Video Text: Anatole Wieck, Professor of Music, School of Performing Arts, University of Maine: "In our day and age, we have countries in the world--our country, also Canada and Europe--talking about cutting funds for the arts. Everybody cites the fact that it's too expensive and we don't have the money, and we're talking about very wealthy, rich countries. And Guatemala is a very poor country. Somehow, they don't seem to have problems finding the funds for it, which shows that it's a question of priorities. They seem to have the right priorities. The way I see it, it's the beginning of a renaissance, not just for the arts but for their whole society."
